Noise Prompting Police Response at Schools Came From Pelham

Police Chief Gerald Lewis delivered comments in a community bulletin today.

Windham Police Chief Gerald Lewis issued a statement today giving more details related to the department's response to suspicious activity near Windham Middle School and Golden Brook School.

In a community bulletin to residents, Lewis said that Windham and Pelham Police located individuals who were target practicing/shooting on a property in Pelham.

"The noise from the shots was clearly heard in Windham (behind the schools) as the snow cover and lack of foliage caused the sound to carry and seem closer than it actually was," Lewis said. "Based on this incident we believe that the previous reports of gun shots in the woods behind the school was from the same general area."
