Plenty of Windham Christmas Fun Awaits This Weekend
Here are five things you should know in Windham today.

1. Get your shop on ... The Windham Development Department, in partnership with the Windham High School, the local business community and several non-profit organizations will be holding their 2nd Annual Holiday Shopping Extravaganza on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Get all the details here.
2. Light it up! Windham holds its annual Christmas tree lighting on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 3-5 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive by fire truck around 3 pm, escorted by the Salem High Marching Band and Color Guard. Santa will be in the Windham Cable Studio for photos until 5 pm. Read more here.
3. Saturday detour. The Christmas tree lighting event will be held at the town complex on N. Lowell road and Church Road. During the event, N. Lowell will be closed to all traffic between Route 111 and Londonderry Road. Traffic will be diverted and the alternate traffic route will be clearly marked with detour signs.
Anyone planning on attending the event should arrive prior to 3:00 pm as parking will be limited once the road is closed.
4. The weatherman says ... Today's forecast calls for a high temperature of 47 degrees with a 40-percent chance of showers. The overnight low is 45 degrees with a 60-percent chance of rain.
