Quiet Week of Candidacy Filings Continues
There are still no contested positions in town.

A quiet week of candidacy filings in Windham has seen very few candidacy filings and no contested positions as of yet.
An update on Windham Patch on Wednesday afternoon announced the candidacy filings of Heath Partington and Michael Scholz for Zoning Board of Adjustment. Partington will see his term expire this March while Scholz is currently serving as an alternate.
Current ZBA member Elizabeth "Betty" Dunn will also see her term expire, but she has not yet filed to try to retain her position.

A vacancy that will be left by the departing Bruce Breton on the Board of Selectmen has been untouched so far, a that he will be running for the position.
Breton will leave the board when his term expires in March due to health issues. He was admitted to Parkland Medical Center over the weekend for a serious illness and has since been recovering in the Intensive Care Unit.

Patricia Barstow, who currently serves as recording secretary on the Nesmith Library Board of Trustees, has also filed in the last 48 hours to retain her seat.
Long-tenured School Board member Bruce Anderson filed almost as soon as residents were able, but has not yet found a taker to make that race competitive. Anderson's seat on the board is the only one expiring in March.
Last winter, a wide open race for School Board saw seven people file for two positions, with current members Michael Joanis and Dr. Jerome Rekart tallying the most votes.
Open positions include one position for three years on the Board of Selectmen, two positions for three years on the Zoning Board of Adjustment, two positions for three years on the Planning Board, three positions for three years for Trustees of the Library, one position for three years for Trustee of the Trust Fund and one position for three years for Trustee of the Cemetery.
