School Board Agrees to Bring $31 Million School Bond to Ballot

According to the Union Leader, the Windham School Board voted on Friday to bring a $31 million school bond to the ballot in March, a measure that will need 60 percent of voter support to pass.

The project would consist of a new seventh and eighth grade facility on London Bridge Road with room for a sixth grade add-on.

Also part of the project is $1.9 million for a new multi-purpose turf field and complex at Windham High School.

The field, according to the report, would be completed in August if passed, and the new school would open the following August.

The new school was on the ballot last year in the form of architectural and engineering fees. Voters shot down the proposal, along with every other money item including the school budget.

The only article to pass was one calling for a split from Pelham and a withdrawal from SAU 28. Windham will soon have its own SAU 95 this summer.
