Windham School Board Trims $582,000 from Proposed Budget
Should voters approve proposed budget, taxes would increase roughly $105 a year on a $300,000 home.

In an effort to avoid a second-straight year of budget rejection by voters, the Windham School Board has cut more than $582,000 from an allocation that was already fiscally conservative.
This week, school board members approved, by a 4-1 vote, a $45.7 million budget to present to voters in March, according to the Lawrence Eagle-Tribune, which reported that seven new proposed positions were cut to trim the budget to a reasonable increase.
Should the budget be supported by voters, the school portion to the Windham tax rate would increase 35 cents, from $23.60 to $23.95 per $1,000 assessed valuation or from $7,080 to $7,185 on a $300,000 Windham home.
