Street Sweeping Begins this Month in Windham

1. TODAY'S FORECAST: We've had great weather all week, and that should hold for Thursday. Expect a high of 71 and mostly sunny skies today. Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low of 40. There is a 20 percent chance of rain, so watch out for that.

2. STREET SWEEPING TO BEGIN: Starting May 13, all town roads will undergo street sweeping until May 31. The work is weather permitting.

3. HYPNOTIST TONIGHT: The WHS Student Athlete Leadership Team (S.A.L.T.) will host a Comedy Show and Hypnotist night at the school this evening. The event will take place in the auditorium at 6 p.m. Learn more here.

THIS DAY IN HISTORY: On this day in 2011, Osama bin Laden, the mastermind behind the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in the United States, is killed by U.S. forces during a raid on his compound hideout in Pakistan. The notorious, 54-year-old leader of Al Qaeda, the terrorist network of Islamic extremists, had been the target of a nearly decade-long international manhunt.
