Thousands of Gallons of 'Dirty Water' Dumped into Cobbetts Pond

A pump malfunction Friday saw thousands of gallons of 'dirty water' dumped into Cobbetts Pond, according to the Eagle Tribune.

The Cobbetts Pond Improvement Association told the paper that the poor water quality was a direct result of draining into the pond from the Interstate 93 construction site.

State officials told the paper that it was difficult to prevent what happened Friday, but that there has not been a widespread problem with water quality in the pond.
