Town to Decide on Regional Planning Commission

A choice of three commissions faces the town.

Stemming from a June 4 discussion on the subject, the Windham Board of Selectmen will decide which regional planning commission the town will align with during tonight's meeting.

Based on its location in the state, the town has the choice of three different commissions.

At present, Windham is part of the 27-town Rockingham Planning Commission, but it is right on the edge of the geographic boundary.

Other affiliation choices include the Nashua Regional Planning Commission and Southern New Hampshire Planning Commission.

To research the matter, several town boards and committees spent the summer researching the three commissions in what Town Administrator Dave Sullivan called the "independent research period."

Border towns for Windham in the other two commissions would be Derry and Londonderry in the SNHPC and Pelham in the NRPC.
