Vehicle Driven by Elderly Windham Man Strikes Two Women at T-Bones

One women was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital.

One woman was transported to a Massachusetts hospital Sunday due to head injuries sustained after she and another woman were struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of the Salem T-Bones Restaurant.

Authorities declined to release details about the identities and conditions of each woman on Monday, although Deputy Police Chief Shawn Patten disclosed that the second woman may have suffered a fracture in one of the bones of her leg.

The collision occurred at about 5:53 p.m. Sunday in the 311 South Broadway eatery's parking lot.

Patten said Edward Coleman, 85, of Windham, was behind the wheel of the vehicle that struck the women. No charges had been issued as of Monday, and Patten said Coleman "cooperated fully with the investigation."

Both women were initially transported by the Salem Fire Department to Holy Family Hospital. The woman who suffered the head injuries was later transferred to Massachusetts General Hospital.

Additional details about the events surrounding the collision weren't released Monday because the incident is still under investigation.
