Windham 2023 Town And School Election Voter’s Guide

Here is everything you need to know about the March 14 town and school elections in Windham, New Hampshire.

WINDHAM, NH — Voters in Windham go to the polls on March 14 to make decisions about town and school budgets as well as political positions, warrant articles, and other issues.

Here is what you need to know.

Voting

Voting will occur from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Windham High School at 64 London Bridge Road.

Town Races, Info

Voters in town have a bunch of competitive races:

Bruce Breton, Matthew Rounds, and Mark Samsel are competing for two three-year seats on the board of selectmen.

Alan Carpenter, Jacob Cross, and Pam McCarthy are running for two three-year planning board seats.

One three-year ZBA seat is up for grabs with two candidates on the ballot: Mark Brockmeier and Timothy Zurowski.

Four trust of the library candidates are running for two three-year seats: Catherine Girata, Jennifer Lopez, Christine Muir, and Mark Branoff.

Alberto Chang is running unopposed for a trustee of the trustee fund three-year seat and Barbara Coish is the only candidate on the ballot for a trustee of the cemetery seat.

Voters will consider a $200,000 five-year lease-purchase agreement for body cams for police.

Union contracts will be considered, as well as the purchase of a new ambulance, fire department gear, and many other line items.

The proposed town budget is $18.7 million, with a default budget of $17.9 million if the higher amount is defeated.

School Info, Races

The school district has a single competitive race — three candidates running for two three-year seats. The candidates are Johny Kuttab, Daniel Popovici-Muller, and Stephanie Wimmer.

Voters will also consider a $62.8 million operating budget with a default budget of $61.8 million.

Union contracts, reserve fund transfers, and other proposals will also be considered.
