Windham Fire Transports 3 Year Old After Near Drowning
The incident was reported at 11:15 a.m.

The Windham Fire Department has reported that a 3-year-old boy was transported to the hospital today after a near drowning incident on 6 Sharon Road.
Windham Fire and Police officials responded to the house at 11:15 a.m. for reports of a possible pediatric drowning. They learned on the way that the baby was out of the pool and breathing, but ineffectively.
According to the report, fire officials later learned that a landscape crew working next door heard the initial screams coming from the residence.
A worker ran over to find the baby had been removed from the pool. The worker, having been previously trained in CPR, assessed the child to find he had no pulse and no respirations.
The worker immediately began CPR and after just a few cycles of compressions and ventilations, was able to restore the boy's breathing before firefighters arrived.
When officials arrived on scene, they continued with advanced treatment. The child was transported to Parkland Medical Center in Derry.
Fire officials determined that the mother removed the baby from the pool, which was an above ground with a deck. It is unclear at this time how the boy got into the water.
The child has since been transferred to Elliot Hospital in Manchester for further treatment.
No other information is available at this time.
Town assessing records show that the property is owned by Ronald and Kathryn St. Laurent.
Today's report comes almost exactly a year after the tragic drowning death of Gabriella "Ella" Okerman, the 3-year-old daughter of former state Rep. Rick Okerman, on Marblehead Road.
That incident also involved a family pool.
