Windham License Plate Tagholder Company to Help Bombing Victims

A budding Windham company has stepped into the spotlight as the latest to fundraise for the victims of last week's horrific pair of bombings at the Boston Marathon.

MW Solutions LLC, co-founded in 2010 by longtime Windham resident Bruce Witte, specializes in custom license plate tagholders, called "Express Yourself" tagholders.

Witte and his business partner from Nashua recognize that many have rallied behind the phrase "Boston Strong" in the last nine days. The two are giving people an opportunity to support Boston from the front and back bumpers of their cars.

"We have a new product, we have a product that kind of appeals to people (and) we have a product that kind of puts the 'Boston Strong' message out," Witte said.

The tagholders will come in four different types, and 50 percent of every sale will go directly to The One Fund Boston, the foundation set up in the wake of the terrorist attack.

Three of the tagholders will have the "Boston Strong" message, coming in the Red Sox, Bruins and Boston Marathon colors. The last reads "United We Stand" in red, white and blue colors.

"The way that we wanted to help people was to say we want to donate a significant amount of funds even though we're a small startup company, "said Witte. "I think if everybody did that, the One Fund would be quite successful."

Witte said he fortunately had no family or friends connected to the Boston Marathon tragedy. This is the first time the business has released a product in recognition and support for the victims of a tragedy.

"We hope this never happens again," he said.

The product that MW Solutions provides shouldn't be mistaken for normal license plate covers, which Witte said are being made illegal in some states since they cover portions of the plate. The MW Solutions tagholder is a two-part system where the user mounts the plate holder on their automobile and then the placard attaches to the plate holder.
