Pinning Ceremony Takes Place for New Police Captain
A pinning ceremony for Ed Fedele took place on Monday.

Windham Police officers squeezed into the Board of Selectmen meeting Monday night for the pinning ceremony of their department's newest captain.
Filling a void left by former Capt. Carl Wagner, new WPD Capt. Ed Fedele will now be in charge of support services. Wagner retired in July 2012.
"I can count on him to get the job done," said Police Chief Gerald Lewis of Fedele, referring to him as a wonderful asset to the department.

Lewis pointed out how well-thought-of Fedele is, noting the crowd of Fedele's co-workers in attendance.
Also joining Fedele at the ceremony were his wife and daughter.

In a brief address, Fedele thanked his mother, who was widowed at age 40, for being his biggest inspiration.
He also thanked his wife for her continuous support through the years.
"The profession is not easy to stay married," said Fedele. "You have your ups and your downs working weird shifts, midnight shifts."
"I'm anxious to continue on in this role and get things accomplished within this organization," he added. Fedele has been a member of the department since 1998.
The department is also served by Capt. Mike Caron, who is in charge of operations.
Fedele said that Caron is like his older brother.
Selectmen Chairman Phil LoChiatto also commented on the large crowd of the town's law enforcement that attended the meeting.
"It's nice to see some positive support and some positive action for our first responders," he said.
