Windham Taxpayers Coalition is Formed
The organization will act as a citizen's oversight group.
A new Windham organization officially formed this week seeking to act as an oversight group that will monitor the spending of taxpayer dollars in town.
The Windham Taxpayers Coalition (WTC) will work in a variety of capacities, from studying local issues with high tax impact consequences to providing facts for the community.
The group will also look to provide solutions through work with local state representatives.

The organization's founding Board of Directors will consist of Rep. Mary Griffin (R-Windham), small business owner Phil Messina, former Rep. Rick Okerman and resident Ken Eyring.
Griffin issued a statement using the warrant article for a new school facility on London Bridge Road as an example.

“There is quite a bit of confusion regarding the needs, costs and benefits of building a new 7th/8th grade school. This is a critical decision that will have a substantial impact on all Windham residents. The decision to build or not build a new school must be based on an understanding of the facts. We will call upon the School Board and Administrators to join with us to help clarify any confusion, as well as work with us to solve our educational needs in a fiscally responsible manner, while still providing a high level of education for our children."
For those who would like to join the WTC and get involved, there will be many opportunities. From volunteering a few minutes a week, to donating a few dollars that will help offset operating costs. Sign up through info@Windhamtaxpayers.com
