Windham Teen Allegedly Raped 15-Year-Old at Pastry Shop

A Windham teenager accused of raping a 15-year-old girl in a local pastry shop waived his probable cause hearing this week at Salem District Court.
Matthew J. Hand, 19, of 20 London Bridge Road in Windham, has been charged with felonious sexual assault – forcible rape and aggravated felonious sexual assault – forcible rape. His bail was changed to $10,000 cash or corporate surety, concurrent for all charges.
The alleged sexual assault took place on May 1 at Baked on Pastries in Windham, a local pie shop located at 33 Indian Rock Road.

According to testimony from Windham Police Detective Bryan Bliss, he was first advised by Officer Philip O'Loughlin on May 2 about the incident.
According to a statement from the victim, Hand brought her into the office at Baked on Pastries and began to rub her thighs. When Hand told her that he wanted to have sex, she repeatedly said 'no.'

At that time, Hand allegedly grabbed her by the wrist and took her into the bathroom and forced her to have sex.
The victim also indicated in her statement that she had said "please stop" and that she told him "no" multiple times.
Hand told officers on May 2 that the victim had come to the business to pick up a pie, and that both removed their pants in the bathroom before having sexual intercourse for approximately five minutes.
Hand said that once they were done, the victim gave him a hug and left. He first stated that the victim was 15 or 16 and that he didn't know.
He later admitted to knowing she was 15 and that she turns 16 in June.
As a condition of Hand's bail, he has been ordered to live with his mother in Nashua.
He has also been ordered to have no unsupervised contact with any individuals under the age of 16 except for family members.
