3 Union County High Schools Make US. News Rank Of Top 10 In NJ

Nearly 24,000 schools were evaluated nationwide, leading to 18,000 that were then ranked.

UNION COUNTY, NJ - A new nationwide report on how effective nearly 18,000 public high schools are in servicing their students places a few Union County standouts among New Jersey's top performers.

The 2025-2026 Best High School Rankings, released Tuesday by U.S. News & World Report, are evaluated based on six key performance indicators, including student achievement on state-required assessments, strong graduation rates, and college readiness measures. Traditional state, metro and district bars of success are joined by specialized STEM and charter rankings in scoring the health of a schools overall student body.

The rankings consider curriculum variety and scoring indicators like student achievement on state required assessments, graduation rates and other college readiness measures. U.S. News collaborated with RTI International, a global research firm, to implement the comprehensive ranking methodology, using the most current data from the 2022-2023 school year.

5. Union County Magnet High School, Scotch Plains (Union County Vocational-Technical School District)
