NEW JERSEY - For those far removed from the Jersey Devil sightings that populate the southern part of the Garden State, there’s another fabled creature lurking in the wooded areas of North Jersey.

The Bigfoot Research Organization is hosting a Bigfoot Expedition in the “squatchy” regions of the state in late October, led by resident New Jersey bigfoot expert Larry Ripon. The expedition will take place from Oct. 20 to 23.

“The previous expedition to this area was a rare achievement among bigfoot expeditions,” reads a description of the expedition on the Bigfoot Research Organization website. “Larry kept the group small enough so they could all basically stick together within earshot while entering a squatchy hollow on foot, enabling every person who attended to hear the same sounds.”

Preference for expedition members for the 2022 hunt will be given to those with hi-resolution recording thermal imagers capable of capturing squashy sightings in the dark, the organization said.

Fees for the expedition come at a steep price, ranging from $300 to $500 depending on the hunt. Members are asked to provide their own camping gear, food, water and transportation.

“Everyone who attended the previous New Jersey trip strongly agrees that they were approached by a sasquatch on the final night,” the organization said. “They are all very certain about it. That's rare. It's a testament to a very squatchy area and wise planning and patient execution.”
