Days Of Rain, Thunderstorms Headed To NJ: See Timeline
The state is at risk for severe thunderstorms including heavy rain, damaging wind gusts and possible isolated tornadoes, per AccuWeather.
NEW JERSEY - Rain is poised to hit the Garden State for the next several days as part of a winter storm slated to bring spring-like temperatures and possible severe thunderstorms to the region, forecasters said.
Rainfall will descend on the state starting Tuesday afternoon through the wee morning hours of Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. Daytime temperatures in the 60s are expected, save for parts of the Jersey Shore which may see slightly cooler mercury readings. Lows will dip into the unseasonably warm 50s.

The westernmost portion of New Jersey man see greater impacts of the storm on Tuesday into Thursday, with severe risk gusty winds and travel disruptions possible, per AccuWeather.

Forecasters say the chances of a thunderstorm are the highest Wednesday, with “a couple rumbles of thunder remain possible Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night, but
that should be the extent of it,” the National Weather Service said.
AccuWeather meteorologists differ in their reading, noting the entire state will be at risk for severe thunderstorms on Wednesday, including heavy rain, locally damaging wind gusts up to 55 to 65 mph, and possible isolated tornadoes.

“The potential for storms capable of causing property damage and localized power outages on Wednesday will include New York City, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Charlotte and part of the Atlanta metro area,” AccuWeather added.
The storm is expected to depart the region by daybreak Thursday, with sunny skies and highs in the mid-30s in the forecast. Thursday night will see temperatures drop back down below freezing in the high 20s.

North Jersey

Wednesday Night: Showers, mainly before 10 p.m. Low around 25. Wind chill values between 15 and 25. Breezy, with a southwest wind 21 to 23 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 39 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 34. Breezy, with a northwest wind 18 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph.
