A toddler was pulled from collapsing Jersey Shore sands and a stabbing at McDonald's rounded out the weekend.
NEW JERSEY - A mortally wounded man crashed his car, a toddler was nearly lost in the swirling sands of the Jersey Shore and an arrest was made after a McDonald’s stabbing over Super Bowl weekend.

A 26-year-old South Jersey man crashed his car into another vehicle minutes after he was shot at an apartment complex, authorities said.
Christian Kurtz, of Willingboro, was found by police after he crashed into another vehicle at Hedding-Jacksonville Road and Welsford Way in Westampton about 7:15 p.m. Saturday, police said. Kurtz, who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, was rushed to Virtua Mount Holly Hospital where he died less than an hour later.

An initial investigation found that Kurtz was shot at the Eastampton Gardens apartment complex, then drove a short distance in his car before striking the other vehicle. The incident remains under investigation by county and local authorities.
Toddler Rescued From Jersey Shore Sand Collapse
A 2-year-old boy was rescued by his father Saturday morning after sand around him collapsed at a Sea Girt beach, police said.
The boy was extricated within two to three minutes and remained “conscious and alert” after the save at Neptune Beach, police said.
Medics later rushed him to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment and observation.
Road Rage Lands NJ Man Attempted Murder Conviction
A man was found guilty last week for running over and severely injuring a Union County woman in a road rage incident in 2022, authorities said.
A Union County jury returned a guilty verdict against Vincent Jean, 57, of Elizabeth, for first-degree attempted murder, second-degree aggravated assault, third-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, third-degree assault by auto, third-degree endangering an injured victim, and third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, prosecutors said.
The verdict follows a two-week long jury trial before Union County Superior Court Judge Thomas Isenhour. Read more.
Attempted Murder Charge For Man In North Jersey McDonald’s Stabbing
A Bergen County man was arrested around 6:30 p.m. Friday night in Hoboken in connection with a non-fatal stabbing, police said Saturday.
Kasaun Patterson of Lodi, 42, allegedly stabbed another man in a fight outside McDonald's on Washington Street, police said.
On Feb. 9 at approximately 6:30 p.m., police responded to the McDonald’s location at 234 Washington St. on reports of a street fight involving up to 10 people.
Some officers attended to the victim, while others investigated. They found Patterson near the scene and arrested him, they said.
"He attempted to resist arrest by stiffening his body," a police spokesperson said in a release Saturday. "A search incident to arrest located a folding knife in Patterson’s jacket pocket.” Read more.
