This NJ BBQ Restaurant Named Among Best In The U.S.

MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ — A Central Jersey eatery has been named among the top 50 barbecue restaurants in the United States.

Travel website OnlyInYourState.com recently asked its readers and editorial staff to determine which restaurants across the country are serving up the best barbecue.

From Texas-style in the Pacific Northwest to longstanding BBQ joints in the South (and everything in between), Only In Your State then narrowed the choices down to the 50 best barbecue spots across the United States.

Included on the list was The Bearded One BBQ in Monroe Township, a beloved roadside stop located on Route 33.

According to Only In Your State, The Bearded One BBQ earned high marks for its brisket grilled cheese, which features Texas toast, two cheeses, sweet BBQ sauce and meat.

Hungry for something else? The Bearded One also offers cheesesteaks, pork spare ribs, chili dogs and more.

Those who've journeyed there agree the roadside spot is worth the stop.

"I’ve been driving past this BBQ place many times, but we decided to try it out after hearing a friend recommend this place!" one reviewer wrote on Google. "I just love how it smells like a late evening summer camping to me. Simple menu with decent choices."

"Do yourself a favor and stop by!" another recommended. "Definitely 1 order is not enough.... doesn't matter if you're late to work. Stop by and eat! This is delicious."
