With home prices up 5.2 percent over the past year, see price changes this summer in your New Jersey neighborhood.
NEW JERSEY — Prices remain hot on the real estate market in New Jersey, with 64.5 percent of homes going over list price as of the most recent Zillow data.
Homes for sale go pending in around 15 days in New Jersey, with the average home price at $492,394 as of Aug. 31, according to Zillow.com. That's up 5.2 percent from last year.

These numbers, which are calculated with the "Zillow Home Value Index" (ZHIV), reflect a weighted average of all homes in the middle third of the market for a particular area.
Zillow released these numbers in mid-September, and they reflect ZHIV numbers through July. Patch included numbers for April through July 2023 for all 547 ZIP codes it has data for in the state.
