NJ Weekend Warmup: Frosty Start, 80-Degree Temps Ahead

NEW JERSEY - A spring warmup is coming to the Garden State this weekend following frosty morning temperatures in parts of the state, forecasters said.

Friday morning temperatures in the high 20s to mid-30s are expected to rise into the 60s by mid-afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

“Even warmer temperatures arriving for the weekend,” the National Weather Service Mount Holly station said in a statement.

The sunny weekend is slated to see daytime highs near 60 degrees on Saturday and near 75 degrees on Sunday, forecasters said. Nighttime temperatures will prove to be chillier, with Friday night dipping into the mid-30s and Saturday night around 45 degrees with a chance of rain.

Sunday night’s dry forecast in the mild mid-50s will kickstart the sunny week ahead, save for a chance of storms Tuesday.

North Jersey

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 62. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 36. South wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Saturday: Increasing clouds, with a high near 63. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 9 mph in the morning.

Saturday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45. South wind around 7 mph.

Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 76. Southwest wind 6 to 8 mph.

Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57.

Central Jersey

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 60. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 36. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 62. Light southeast wind becoming south 5 to 10 mph in the morning.

Saturday Night: A chance of showers after 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Sunday: A chance of showers before 8 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 76. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
