One Person Dead, Another Injured In Union County Shooting
Officers responded at around 10:15 a.m. to Carnegie St. and Monmouth Ave. for reports of a shooting
LINDEN, NJ - One person is dead, and a woman is injured after a shooting in Linden Monday morning.
According to Linden Police, officers responded at around 10:15 a.m. to Carnegie St. and Monmouth Ave. for reports of a shooting. Police found a woman on the sidewalk along the 600 block of Carnegie St. after she was shot by a male suspect who fled the scene. The woman was taken to Newark University Hospital in critical condition.
After fleeing, the male suspect barricaded himself in a home nearby. Police entered the house and found him dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

As of Monday afternoon, the area around Carnegie St. and Monmouth Ave. is still an active crime scene.
