An unsettled weather pattern will move into Eastern Pennsylvania Wednesday and linger through early next week. Here's the latest.
PENNSYLVANIA— An unsettled weather pattern with rain, scattered thunderstorms and possible coastal flooding will move into the Philadelphia region Wednesday and linger until early next week.
Rain enters the forecast Wednesday evening, with the potential for thunderstorms starting Thursday and continuing into early next week. Temperatures will continue to drop Wednesday into Thursday, with the overnight low dipping into the 50s.
Communities along the Jersey Shore face additional hazards, including the potential for coastal flooding, as well as a rip current risk Wednesday. A Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued in Ocean and Atlantic counties due to the threat of coastal flooding.

Thunderstorms are predicted to move into the region Thursday after 5 p.m. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent that day, with new rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible, the National Weather Service predicts.

The chance of thunderstorms remains through the weekend, with a 70 percent chance Saturday and a 60 percent chance Sunday in New Jersey.
Poor beach weather is expected to develop this week from southern Georgia up through Long Island due to the building surf, according to AccuWeather. As the breeze from the Atlantic continues, more moisture will be added to the air, boosting humidity levels as clouds increase.
In much of the mid-Atlantic, areas of rain will break out, expand northward and mitigate temperatures even further, according to AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dave Dombek.

Tonight: Showers, mainly after 9 pm. Low around 58. East wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Thursday: Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 5pm. High near 70. Northeast wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Thursday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a low around 65. East wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Friday: Showers likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 11am. High near 82. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Friday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 2am, then a chance of showers. Low around 69. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Saturday: A chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 85. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.
