School Closings, Delays Across NJ For Jan. 21

Frigid temperatures and snowfall have prompted some school districts in New Jersey to announce closures or delayed openings.

NEW JERSEY — With snow over the weekend and extreme wind chills predicted for Tuesday, school districts across New Jersey have announced delayed openings for Tuesday, Jan. 21.

The National Weather Service has predicted wind chills below zero for Tuesday as arctic air settles over the region.   • Donovan Catholic High School, Toms River: 90-minute delayed opening
  • Dover Public Schools: Delayed opening; 90 minutes for the high school, 80 minutes for the middle school, 75 minutes for the elementary school, 2 hours for vocational students. See preschool details on the website.
  • Freehold Regional High School District: 90-minute delayed opening
  • Freehold Township Schools: 2-hour delayed opening; Y-Kids before care canceled
  • Hamburg School: Opening at 10 a.m.
  • Holy Cross Christian Day Care, Toms River: 1-hour delayed opening
  • Kiddie Academy, Toms River: Opening at 8 a.m.
  • Kinnelon Schools: 2-hour delayed opening. Snow routes are in effect, students should be at their snow route stop 15 minutes before the pickup time.
  • Lakehurst Elementary School: 2-hour delayed opening
  • Manchester Township Schools: 90-minute delayed opening; AM Y-Kids, before- and after-school activities canceled
  • Millstone Township Schools: 2-hour delayed opening
  • Mine Hill Township School District: Canfield School opening at normal time; see Dover Schools for delayed opening information for older students.
  • Monmouth County Vocational School District: 90-minute delayed opening
  • Morris Catholic High School: Opening at 10 a.m.
  • Morris School District: 2-hour delayed opening; Sunrise program will not operate.
  • Mount Arlington Schools: 2-hour delayed opening
  • Mount Olive Schools: 2-hour delayed opening
  • Pemberton Township Schools: 2-hour delayed opening
  • Parsippany-Troy Hills Schools: 2-hour delayed opening
  • Randolph Township Schools: 2-hour delayed opening; morning-only preschool is canceled, full-day preschool will start 2 hours late.
  • Readington Township Schools: 2-hour delayed opening
  • Roxbury Township Schools: 2-hour delayed opening
  • Rugby School at Woodfield, Wall: 75-minute delayed opening
  • St. Joseph's Grade School, Toms River: 90-minute delayed opening
  • St. Rose of Lima, Freehold: 2-hour delayed opening
  • Toms River Regional Schools: 90-minute delayed opening; morning Y-Kids, morning preschool and morning vocational canceled
  • Upper Freehold Regional Schools: 2-hour delayed opening
  • Warren Hills Regional School District: 2-hour delayed opening
