8 NJ Zip Codes Among The Most Expensive In The Country: See The List

Typical home values in eight New Jersey communities were among the highest in the country last month, according to data from Zillow.

NEW JERSEY — Typical home values in eight New Jersey communities were among the priciest in the country last month, according to data from real estate marketplace Zillow.

The typical home value varies from state to state and ZIP code to ZIP code, with monthly Zillow data showing which five-digit neighborhoods have the largest price tags. Using this data, Patch looked at the top 150 most expensive ZIP codes in the country and found which New Jersey communities are on the list.

The most expensive ZIP code in the country is 94027, in Atherton, Calif. This San Mateo County community had typical home values of $7,552,940 in June, Zillow data shows.

In the Garden State, the most expensive ZIP codes to live in are in the New York City suburbs or down the Shore. Four of the New Jersey communities on the list had typical home values above $2 million.

The average home value in New Jersey is $484,467, up 4.2 percent from this time last year, according to Zillow. Single-family homes in the Garden State have an average value of $500,717.

Here are the eight New Jersey ZIP codes among the most expensive in the nation, along with their rank and how much the typical home value was in June:

  • 52. Alpine (ZIP 07620): $2,732,814
  • 70. Avalon (ZIP 08202): $2,407,447
  • 80. Stone Harbor (ZIP 08247): $2,264,361
  • 123. Mantoloking (ZIP 08738): $1,958,518
  • 128. Short Hills (ZIP 07078): $1,903,920
  • 141. Allenhurst (ZIP 07711): $1,872,062.
  • 147. Sea Girt (ZIP 08750): $1,843,400.83

These numbers reflect a weighted average of all homes in the middle of the market for a particular area, and are calculated with the Zillow Home Value Index.
