Jersey Shore spots saw 60 mph wind gusts and some of the highest tides in several years Monday as a nor'easter slammed the coast.
Wind gusts peaked at 60 mph and areas saw some of the worst coastal flooding in years Monday as a nor'easter slammed the Jersey Shore.
Flood levels in some areas were the highest they've been since Superstorm Sandy, according to the data. Many areas hit just below major flood status Monday.
Tuckerton in Ocean County saw some of the worst flooding in this storm, peaking at 6.39 feet. According to NOAA, major flood level there is at 6.4 feet.

Waretown, also in Ocean County, passed the major flood stage at 4.21 feet; to be considered major, tides must reach 4.1 feet there. That surpassed the gauge's record of 3.8 feet. However, that gauge is newer and was not in place during Sandy.
Tides got close to 5 feet on Long Beach Island, which is still experiencing flooded roads as of Tuesday morning.
The inside thorofare at Atlantic City hit 7.47 feet, a few inches short of its major flood status of 7.9 feet.
‼Waves overtook the seawall on 2nd Avenue in North Wildwood with Monday's NJ nor'easter.
Nearby Cape May saw 3 consecutive flooding tides, according to the NOAA, between Sunday and Monday. That included two moderate stage tides.

Damaging wind gusts were also reported, knocking down trees and power lines.
And the highest winds were reported in Island Beach State Park, which peaked at 62 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
