1st Snow Of Season As Polar Air Blasts NJ
The first snow of the season fell Tuesday morning in North Jersey as polar air blasts the state. Here's how long the freeze will last.
Snow showers are dusting North Jersey Tuesday morning as the entire state is experiencing polar air and blustery winds. The frigid air is the coldest of the season so far, bringing with it wind gusts of up to 40 mph and the first snow of the season, according to the National Weather Service.
Morning wind chill factors are in the teens, and will only warm up to the mid-40s at most, forecasters said. Winds will make it feel like it's in the 30s, so forecasters expect it to be a bitter, raw day.
Flurries are expected to continue in North Jersey in areas near and north of I-78, though they could stretch down to Central Jersey, National Weather Service forecasters said.
