Talking Softball with Savannah Czornomor
I interviewed NJ high school senior softball player Savannah Czornomor. This is the first part in a series following her journey.

A couple days ago, I had the pleasure of interviewing New Jersey high school softball player Savannah Czornomor. This was my first interview with a high school athlete and the first in what I plan will become a long-term series of following her journey wherever it leads.
A senior at Passaic County Tech Institute, Savannah also plays with Central Jersey Force Elite. Very versatile, Savannah plays third base, shortstop and the outfield. She is also a right-handed pitcher.
Entering her senior year, Savannah carried a lofty .436 batting average with an .842 slugging percentage. In 165 at-bats, she has 14 home runs, 60 RBI's and 68 runs scored. Late last year, Savannah committed to Wagner College in New York.

Savannah's coaches heap praise on her. “While there is no “perfect player” in the recruiting process, there are those who display dedication, commitment and hard work, and that is Savannah,” said Craig Conway, owner of Baseball's Finest Training Facility in Cedar Grove, NJ.
Along with her excellent performance on the field, she succeeds in the classroom, too. Possessing a 4.1 Grade Point Average, Savannah is ready to continue her education at Wagner College.

Coach Conway also states she remains humble, despite her many achievements. “Savannah is humble in nature, but a force on the ball field,” said Conway. It's also evident on social media, where Savannah posts many positive messages. She is not only a coach's dream, she is the type of teammate and friend anyone would want.
In our interview, I was immediately impressed with Savannah's maturity. She was poised and confident, without being cocky. She was more natural and interesting than many much older and more accomplished athletes I have interviewed.
Savannah discussed her start in softball, her versatility, choosing Wagner, her future and much more. She made my job as an interviewer easier than many professional athletes I have interviewed.
As a stand-alone, this interview is a standard biographical interview. Hopefully though, this interview will serve as an introduction to a player whose career I will follow and share with all. I hope everyone finds this informative and entertaining. I hope it also will help young athletes in their journeys.
