Teen Stabbed Mom To Death In South Jersey Condo, Authorities Say

A Mays Landing teenager is accused of stabbing his mother to death, authorities said.

The 17-year-old, whose name was not shared as he is a minor, is charged with murder in the death of 49-year-old Julissa Serrano, also of Mays Landing, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.

Fire Critically Injures 79-Year-Old Jersey City Man: Prosecutor

A 79-year-old man was seriously injured in a fire in Jersey City early Saturday morning, prosecutors said.

Firefighters responded around 1 a.m. Saturday to 241 Baldwin Ave., said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office. They encountered smoke and fire in the basement, officials said, before discovering an unconscious man.

WATCH: Escaped Horse Takes Police On Chase In South Jersey Neighborhood

A loose horse explored a residential neighborhood and outpaced an officer before getting captured Friday in Gloucester County, police said.

The horse was reported canvassing the Hunter Woods neighborhood of Monroe Township just before 8 a.m. Police found the animal grazing in a resident's lawn. But it ran away, eluding an officer running after it.

At Least 6 Injured In Elizabeth House Fire

Several neighbors escaped an Elizabeth duplex just moments before thick smoke and fast-moving flames overtook the home Saturday morning, according to media reports.

It took about 80 firefighters two hours to knock down the blaze, which spread to a neighboring house and displaced multiple families, according to ABC7. At least six people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Man In Werewolf Mask Robs Dispensary While South Jersey Store Was Open: Police

A man in a werewolf mask broke into a South Jersey cannabis dispensary through the drive-thru window and stole the cash drawer while the business was open, authorities said.

Theodore Sparks, 25, has been charged for his alleged role in the Nov. 5 robbery of Nova Farms in Woodbury. He was arrested Wednesday.
