The Social Security Administration has revealed which baby names were the most popular across the Garden State last year.
NEW JERSEY - The results are in for the most popular names for 2024's birthday babies in the Garden State. Each year, parents share the new additions to their families with the Social Security Administration in order to apply for their Social Security card.
The agency keeps tabs on the thousands of different names babies receive, both nationally and on a state level.
Liam and Mia took the Garden State crown for 2024.

The top 10 most popular girl names in the Garden State:

On the national stage, 2024's newcomers kept a tradition alive for the sixth consecutive year atop the baby name charts, once again crowning Olivia and Liam as the favorites. The second-place finishers also fell into the familiar category, as Emma and Noah also held strong in their spots for the sixth consecutive year.
Social Security numbers let parents claim children as dependents on income tax returns, open bank accounts and take other financial actions.
Medical coverage and other government services also utilize this identifier when certifying children for eligibility.
