NEW JERSEY — Looking for a winter getaway close to home this December? Three New Jersey towns were rated among the top 150 "underrated" winter destinations for families by an online travel guide.
Family Destinations Guide surveyed 3,000 Americans to find out where they like to go for a family-friendly vacation in the winter - some snow-covered, like Buffalo, Wyoming; some sandy, like High Springs, Florida.
In the Garden State, survey respondents selected towns with natural attractions, historic buildings, and plenty of local shopping and dining opportunities.

The three New Jersey towns deemed "underrated" spots for winter family vacations are:
- Allentown (Monmouth County) was ranked No. 12
- Cape May Point (Cape May County) was ranked No. 38
- Lambertville (Hunterdon County) was ranked No. 120
