51 Trees And Shrubs Planted In Asbury Thanks To A TD Bank Grant
The New Jersey Tree Foundation did the planting on Wednesday with money provided by a TD Bank grant.
ASBURY PARK, NJ – The New Jersey Tree Foundation (NJTF) recently received a 2021 TD Tree Days grant, which helped with the planting of 51 native trees and shrubs in Asbury Park on Wednesday.
The planting took place at the Lumly Homes and Robinson Towers, according to the NJTF.
“Our work in Asbury Park began in 2006 when we worked with community volunteers to plant two rows of shade and flowering trees along Bradley Elementary School, and 15 years later, the results are stunning,” NJTF executive director Lisa Simms said in a statement.

The TD Tree Days program supports the TDRCommitment’s Vibrant Planet, helping to improve the quality of our environment and address environmental inequities so people and economies can thrive.
“During the pandemic, we saw an increased demand for green spaces as more people headed outdoors, which is why this year’s TD Tree Days efforts are more important than ever. We are thrilled to be supporting NJ Tree Foundation with a grant to help expand the tree canopy and green spaces in Asbury Park,” Shelley Sylva, Head of US Corporate Citizenship at TD Bank, said in a statement.
