ASBURY PARK, NJ – The city of Asbury Park, in conjunction with The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners, will be hosting a “Light Up the Shore” in honor of the lives lost and the heroism shown by the many rescue teams and citizens who responded to the tragedy on Sept. 11, 2001.

Asbury Park is one of 53 Monmouth County municipalities participating in the “Light Up The Shore” event. Participants can come down to Asbury Park’s boardwalk on Sept. 11 at 8:46 p.m. to light up the night skyline, with their cell phones, in honor of these heroes.

“These lights will pay tribute to them and a reminder that as Americans, we rise up,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone in a statement.
