Asbury Park Brewery Opens Friday In Its New Home On Cookman Avenue
"It's been a grind," said founder Bob McLynn. "We can't wait to welcome back our friends who used to come to punk shows at the old space!"
ASBURY PARK, NJ — Big news! Asbury Park Brewery will officially open to the public in its brand-new home at 614 Cookman Avenue at 4 p.m. this Friday, May 24.
They used to be located on Sewall Avenue, where the brewery first opened in 2016, but then closed in March 2020. They've been closed ever since.
“It’s been a grind the last few years trying to get this new space open,” said owner and founder Bob McLynn. "We can't wait to welcome back our old friends who used to come to punk shows at the old space along with everyone hitting us up on social media waiting for this place to open. We have some great new beers in the tanks that will be released soon."

Their new 3,180-square-foot location is now in the heart of downtown Asbury Park, and will host live music in the tasting room. In the past, the brewery partnered with musicians that play in the area, including The Front Bottoms, Jack Antonoff and Panic! At The Disco on limited-edition beer releases. Look for that to happen again this summer with all new bands (wonder who?)
No food will be served, but you can bring in food with you. Open seven days a week, Asbury Park Brewery will have a total of 12 beers on tap, and will allow growler and crowler fills, takeout can sales, plus merch for sale.

Because the brewery was founded by local musicians (all of whom play in the Asbury Park live music scene), Asbury Park Brewery will have a strong emphasis on live music: There will be live music performances in the tasting room as customers sample their different beers. There’s also a glass wall separating the tasting room from the brewery, allowing customers to witness the brewing process firsthand.
The brewery also partnered with local artist Porkchop: Look in their tasting room to see walls covered with posters, photographs and concert tickets of famous musicians who performed in Asbury Park over the years. There's also one wooden wall covered with 8,000 vinyl albums from a variety of musicians.
The interior design of the new brewery was inspired by Japanese listening bars, which encourages customers to enjoy the musical experience.
The tasting room will feature a rotation of new offerings but will also include year-round selections such as Blonde, Sea Dragon, Easy Dragon and Dragon Juice and seasonal offerings like Watermelon Summer and Pony Pale Ale (celebrating the Stone Pony’s 50th anniversary).
You can book the brewery for private events.
