Asbury Park Council Announces Extended Hours For Parking Garage
Extended weekend hours for public parking are available to help alleviate the downtown parking demand.

ASBURY PARK – The city council says public parking hours for the Bangs Avenue Parking Garage, located at 605 Bangs Ave., have been extended to increase parking availability in the downtown.
The garage is available to the public starting Friday evening through Sunday. New extended public parking hours are 6 p.m. to midnight on Fridays, 8:30 a.m. Saturdays to 2:30 a.m. on Sundays and 8 a.m. to midnight on Sundays.
“We know how important parking availability is to our downtown business community as it affects their livelihood,” said Councilperson Eileen Chapman. “And we are pleased to add this solution as one piece of the parking puzzle we are trying to solve in Asbury Park.”

“City Council and the Parking Committee heard feedback from businesses regarding access to the Bangs Avenue Parking Garage for both employees and customers,” said Mayor John Moor. “The garage is owned by the State of New Jersey and we have been working with them for some time to make it available to the public. We’re thrilled that they were able to grant the request last year and following that, extend hours to help make this a useful solution for our downtown business community.”
Vehicles must exit the garage before closing when the access gates are locked. Vehicles left overnight will not be accessible until the following morning.
