The senior dog was "frozen half to death," said the animal shelter. A person passing by called the shelter's hotline to report the conditions the dog was being kept in. The dog has been named Kristoff and he is currently being kept at the Monmouth County SPCA headquarters in Eatontown, where he is safe, warm and even got a visit from Santa, who brought him some chicken as a holiday treat.

"We are SO THANKFUL that someone called our cruelty hotline in time so that our officers could intervene," said the Monmouth County SPCA. "His owner WILL be charged to bring this pup justice."
