Residents were evacuated from a house fire Tuesday night, Dec. 26, on Standish Drive in Ocean Township.
OCEAN TOWNSHIP, NJ — Residents of a Standish Drive home were evacuated after a fire there on Tuesday night, Dec. 26. The residents are safe, but the home is not currently habitable, officials said Wednesday.
The Oakhurst Independent Hose Company No. 1 was dispatched to the home, confirmed the working fire extending to the attic and called for assistance from Wanamassa Fire Company and Glendola Fire RIT, the department said in a social media post.
Wanamassa Fire Company said in a post: "Our company operated on scene for approximately one hour until released by command. Great job by the initial arriving units evacuating the occupants, who were originally reported to be trapped within the residence."
