There are 80 members on the commission, chaired by Josh Berliner, and some notable members include Michael Oren, former ambassador from Israel to the United States (Oren was born and raised in New Jersey) and Ambassador Daniel Kurtzer, who served as President George Bush’s ambassador to Israel and ambassador to Egypt under President Bill Clinton.

“I am honored and grateful to have been appointed to the New Jersey Israel Commission by Gov. Phil Murphy, as both places are near to my heart," said Silverberg. "I look forward to working with the members of the Commission and the Commission’s counterparts in Israel to enhance New Jersey’s firm partnership with Israel."
