NJ Music Festival To Require Proof Of Vax Or Negative COVID Test
Jersey Shore-based music festival Sea.Hear.Now. will be requiring proof of vaccination or negative test 72 hours before the event.
ASBURY PARK, NJ – The Asbury Park-based Sea.Hear.Now Festival is requiring that all attendees either show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken 3 days before attending the festival.
The decision for the major music event - which attracts over 50,000 attendees every year with headliners like Pearl Jam, The Smashing Pumpkins and Billy Idol- was announced Wednesday via social media.
“The safety of our patrons and our staff is our number one priority,” festival organizers stated on their Instagram. “As such, a full COVID-19 vaccination or negative COVID-19 test results will be required to attend Sea.Hear.Now 2021. For patrons who are not fully vaccinated, a negative COVID-19 test result must be obtained within 72 hours (3 days) of first day attending Sea.Hear.Now.”

This decision was made after the CDC recommended on Monday that people in all New Jersey counties should wear a mask due to the growing transmission rate of COVID-19.
The sold-out festival - which will take place on the Asbury Park Beachfront on Sept. 18 and 19 - and will feature a surf contest along with live performances from Patti Smith and her Band, The Avett Brothers, Patti Scialfa and more.
