100K+ Child Sex Abuse Items Found On Southern Ocean Man's Devices: Prosecutor

An initial exam found 1,000 child sexual abuse items on Alfred Annibal's devices; authorities say they then found more than 100,000 items.

LITTLE EGG HARBOR, NJ — A Little Egg Harbor man pleaded guilty to possession of child sexual abuse material after an investigation uncovered more than 100,000 items of child sexual abuse material on several electronic devices, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

Alfred Annibal, 77, faces seven years in New Jersey State Prison, along with parole supervision for life and registration as a Megan's Law Offender, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.

The New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force received a cyber-tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that someone was uploading child sexual abuse material from an IP address associated with a Little Egg Harbor home, Billhimer said.

Annibal was identified as the individual responsible, Billhimer said.

On May 23, 2024, authorities including the Department of Homeland Security executed a court-authorized search warrant on the home. An initial forensic examination of a desktop computer and external hard drive from Annibal's home found more than 1,000 items of child sexual abuse material, Billhimer said.

Annibal was charged and taken to Ocean County Jail.

A continuing investigation of all electronic devices seized from Annibal's home by the prosecutor's office discovered more than 100,000 items of child sexual abuse material, Billhimer said. Annibal was additionally charged on May 30, 2024. However, due to bail reform, he was released on June 5, 2024.
