2021 Election Day In Barnegat, Manahawkin: When, Where To Vote

The general election is Tuesday in New Jersey. Here's what you need to know.

BARNEGAT, NJ — The 2021 general election is Tuesday. Here's a last look at your options for voting, along with who's on the ballot in Barnegat and Manahawkin.

The polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday in New Jersey for those who did not take advantage of the early voting period or on Nov. 2.

For the second year in a row, residents can vote by mail. They can also use the vote-by-mail drop boxes that have been set up across the district. Barnegat and Manahawkin residents can find their drop box at the Barnegat Library at 112 Burr St. or the Southern Resource Center at 179 S. Main Street in Manahawkin.

Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked or placed in drop boxes on or before 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Residents will vote for governor and state legislative seats, as well as local school board and council seats.

Who Is On The Ballot?

  • Governor's race: Gov. Phil Murphy is running for reelection this year against Republican Jack Ciattarelli, Madelyn Hoffman of the Green Party, Gregg Mele of the Libertarian Party, and Joanne Kuniansky of the Socialist Workers Party.
  • State Senate: In district 9, Republican incumbent Christopher Conners will be challenged by David T. Wright and Regina Discenza for State Senate.
  • General Assembly: Republican incumbents DiAnne Gove and Brian Rumpf are running in District 9 against Democrats Kristen Henninger-Holland and Alexis Jackson for the two assembly seats.
  • Barnegat Township Committee: Two Republicans are running to keep their committee seats — incumbents Pasquale 'Pat' Pipi and William Farmer against Democrats Charles Cunliffe and Martin Weber.
  • Barnegat School Board: Ten candidates are running for three three-year terms. See the full list of candidates here.
  • Stafford Township Council: Mayor Gregory Myhre is running for re-election against Democratic challenger Joanne Sitek and ten candidates are running for six seats on the council. See the full list of candidates here.
  • Stafford School Board: Taylor Brennan, Tammy Wagner and Matthew Regulski are running for three seats on the Stafford Board of Education. Kevin J. Cooney is running unopposed for a one-year term.
  • State Constitutional Questions: Voters will be asked to approve a constitutional amendment to permit wagering on all college sport or athletic activities and a constitutional amendment to allow certain organizations authorized to conduct games of chance to use proceeds from those games to support the organization.

Where Can I Vote?

Those looking for a drop box for vote-by-mail ballots can use any in Ocean County. A vote-by-mail drop box has been set up at the Barnegat Library at 112 Burr St. or the Southern Resource Center at 179 S. Main Street in Manahawkin. A total of 19 drop boxes are available in Ocean County and their addresses can be found listed on the Ocean County Clerk's Election Division website.

The vote-by-mail ballots will be picked up daily and brought to the Board of Elections. All security measures will be followed when collecting and transporting the vote-by-mail ballots, officials said.

Traditional polling locations are also set up in Ocean County. You can find your polling location here. The polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
