Barnegat BOE Will Pay $60,000 To Middle School Student Who Claims She Was Sexually Harassed By Fellow Student
Unnamed school officials, forbidden from discussing the matter in public.

Barnegat school board members recently agreed to pay $60,000 to a Brackman Middle School student who claimed she was "pervasively sexually harassed" by a classmate, according to app.com.
The suit claimed that school officials took no action on behalf of "K.K" when she was subjected to "foul, disgusting and profound sexual language and allusion to sexual acts between 2011 and 2014," by another student, according to the suit.
The offending student also allegedly hurled sexual slurs at K.K. and threw objects at her, the suit states.

Both the student and her mother, referred to in the lawsuit as C.K., complained to the school's administrators, who "failed to take effective remedial measures to prevent further harassment and to protect the minor plaintiff," according to the lawsuit.
The district did not report the conduct to law enforcement, the complaint states.
