Donald H. Brown Of The Loveladies Section Of Long Beach Island Dies At 83
A Memorial Gathering and service will be held on Saturday in Ship Bottom.

Donald H. Brown passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was 83.
Donald was born in Somerville, NJ and moved to Bridgewater after marrying his high school sweetheart to raise their family. He was a summer resident of Loveladies starting in 1971, making it his permanent home in 1997. He enjoyed spending his winter months in Nokomis, FL.

Donald and his brother were the owners of Brown Builders for over 40 years. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1952-1954. Donald was a life member of the Somerville Elks Lodge #1068. He loved boating, fishing and snowmobiling and enjoyed countless hours playing cards with family and friends.
Donald was predeceased by his son, Gary, in 1957 and his daughter, Cathleen in 2008. Donald leaves behind his beloved wife of 64 years, Shirley and their three children; Gail and her husband Joseph LaSpada, Donna and her husband Milton Nuckols and Donald M Brown.

He was affectionately known as "Papa Don" to his nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many friends. He was predeceased by three brothers, four sisters and is survived by his sister Patricia Brygier. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the 2 p.m. service on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016 at Bugbee-Riggs Funeral Home, 1119 Long Beach Blvd. Ship Bottom, NJ. Interment will follow at Holy Innocents Memorial Garden, Marine Street, Beach Haven, NJ.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society , 1035 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ 08753 in Mr. Brown's Memory.
