Don't Fall For This, Stafford Police Say

STAFFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ - Stafford Township police are asking residents and business not to donate to L.E.A.D. Law Enforcement Against Drugs, a drug prevention program curriculum that is taught is schools in parts of New Jersey.
"Please be advised that the Stafford Township Police Department does NOT support LEAD, and does NOT teach the LEAD curriculum in our elementary schools," a post on the police department's Facebook pagestates. "We have been a proud DARE community for 30 years. These funds raised by LEAD in their solicitation campaign will NOT benefit our community, school children, school system or Police Department in any way."
Stafford businesses and residents may receive requests from LEAD for donations outside of retail businesses, door to door, or by telephone, police said.
