Hoofy's Fall Fest Returns To Barnegat Saturday

BARNEGAT, NJ — Hoofy’s Fall Fest will return to Barnegat on Saturday in memory of Barnegat Patrolman Alex Hoffman.

Hoffman died Oct. 2, 2019 from an apparent medical episode while he was off-duty and working a second job, police said. He began his career as a Barnegat police officer in 2003.

Hoofy's Fall Fest was first organized by his fellow officers in November 2019 to remember the life of Hoffman and raise money to help his wife and children.

Funds raised at this year's festival will support the Alex Hoffman Memorial Scholarship Fund for Barnegat students. Admission is $10 for adults and children are free.

Saturday's festival will feature beer tasting, food trucks, children’s inflatables, live music, craft vendors, fire pits and more from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the field across from the firehouse at 14 Birdsall St.

Hoodies with Hoffman's last name and commemorative beer mug sales will also be sold.
