Long Beach Township Man Facing Drug Charges : Cops

Long Beach Township police recently arrested a North Beach Haven man on several drug charges after a multi-jurisdictional surveillance operation with Stafford police and the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

The surveillance took place on Oct. 6, after authorities received "multiple" complaints about drug distribution in the area of 9 West 18th Street, according to the police report.

Police stopped Robert Eletto's blue Dodge Dakota in the Walmart parking lot on Route 72 in Stafford Township.

“During the stop, Mr. Eletto advised detectives that he was in possession of a quantity of marijuana at his residence at 9 West 18th St.," the police report states. “Consensual searches were conducted on both Mr. Eletto’s vehicle and residence. The search of his residence resulted in the seizure of quantities of marijuana, cocaine and U.S. currency.”

Eletto was arrested and taken to Long Beach Township police headquarters, where he was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana in excess of 50 grams and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, police said.

He was released pending a future court date.
