Long Beach Township Police Charge Building Contractor With Theft

Brian S. Dendall took deposit from homeowner, but never did any work, police say.

Long Beach Township police have charged an area building contractor with taking deposit money from homeowner, but never doing any work, according to the department's Facebook page.

Brian S. Dendall signed a contract with the homeowner in October 2015 to do work on his Long Beach Township home and accepted a $300 deposit. But the materials were never purchased and no work was ever done, the post states.

The subsequent police investigation resulted in Dendall's arrest. He was charged with theft by failure to make required disposition, failing to register with the state Division of Consumer Affairs, failure to display the registration number on the contract and failure to display the cancellation notice on the contract, police said.
