Manahawkin Man Charged With Armed Robbery Of Stafford Pharmacy, Police Chief Says
Man entered store with a screwdriver and a knife, fled without taking anything.

Stafford police recently arrested a Manahawkin man and charged him with armed robbery after he attempted to hold up the Stafford Pharmacy on Nautilus Drive on Dec. 29, Police Chief Thomas Dellane said.
Eric D. Apgar, 35, entered the store at 11:36 a.m. wearing a mask and carrying a knife and a screwdriver. He ordered the three employees to get down on the floor. But when one of the employees confronted him, Apgar fled the story without any proceeds, the chief said.
Employees identified a suspect who was in the store earlier in the morning. Investigation led to Apgar's arrest. Municipal Court Judge Damian Murray set Apgar's bail at $50,000. Apgar was lodged in Ocean County Jail in lieu of bail, Dellane said.

The arresting officer was Patrolman Michael Morrin. Assisting officers were Lieutenant Jeffrey Ross, Sgt. Kenneth Schiattarella, Patrolman John Morrin, and Detective Stephen Fessler. This matter is pending grand jury action in Ocean County Superior Court, the chief said.
