Manahawkin Man Points Gun At Repo Employees Who Came To Take His Harley-Davidson

Man ordered employees off his property with a gun, police say.

A Mermaid Drive man is facing weapons and aggravated assault charges after he pointed a gun at employees from a repossession company who came to take his Harley Davidson, Lt. James R. Vaughn said.

Michael Arnold, 46, drew a handgun from his waistband and ordered them off the property at 7:24 p.m on Nov. 23, he said.

Company employees called Stafford police to report the incident. One of the workers was wearing a body camera. Arnold pointed the gun at him and ordered him to hand over the camera. He went into his garage with the camera and came back with the camera a few minutes later, Vaughn said..

The employees left the property and went to a safe area to wait for police. Arnold left his home and was found at his girlfriend's home on Nautilus Drive. He told police the gun was at his Mermaid Drive, where it was located by police.

Arnold was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He was taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River in lieu of $50,000, Vaughn said.
